Crooked Pursuit is one of the first events an alliance encounters in the early game. It is also a valuable source of items required to upgrade Regalia, so maximizing both your personal score and your alliance's total is worthwhile.
The event lasts about 35 minutes and consists of 20 waves. Most waves attack players' cities; waves 10 and 20 target only the Alliance Seat. Among the city-targeting waves, most attack every alliance member, while waves 7, 14, and 17 target only active members.
The event has multiple difficulty levels. Your alliance advances to higher levels by reaching their alliance-point requirements. Higher difficulties bring stronger attacks and offer more points.
Alliance points are the sum of members' personal points. You can earn personal points in two ways:
- Successfully defend your own city.
- Get kills while defending an ally's city or the Alliance Seat.
Coordinate troop swaps before the event
To build your score, aim to get kills while defending allies' cities and keep your own city standing. Exchange troops with alliance members before the event, using comparable quantities and the same tier (a 1:1 exchange). For example, post a short message such as “Swap 90k T9?” in alliance chat. Interested members can send their city coordinates by private message to keep the alliance chat clear. With coordination, the alliance can complete its troop swaps in about five minutes. Finding exchange partners before the event starts makes setup easier.
Keep your main Enforcers in your own city to provide its stats. You do not receive points for kills made by your own troops while they defend your city, so send those troops to reinforce allies and let their troops defend yours. If you can send every troop out, leave your city empty; otherwise, prioritize moving your Fighters out.
Make troops available for the Alliance Seat
Keeping troops outside your city can leave you without a legion available for waves 10 and 20, when the Alliance Seat is attacked. If that happens, recall one legion you sent to reinforce an ally after wave 9 hits him, send it to the Alliance Seat, and then send it back to that ally. Keep your main Enforcers stationed in your own city while doing this.
Space at the Alliance Seat may be limited when many active players want to defend it. Coordinate who will send troops for waves 10 and 20.
Prioritize Fighters when you cannot send every troop
If you have more troops than you can send as reinforcements, prioritize sending Fighters. They deal damage first and generate most of the kills when the defending city is much stronger than the attacking legion, as is often the case in Crooked Pursuit.
Quick checklist
- Find troop-swap partners before the event.
- Keep your main Enforcers in your own city.
- Exchange reinforcements: send your troops to allies' cities and ask them to defend yours.
- Move your own troops out of your city where possible; prioritize Fighters if you cannot move everyone.
- Coordinate a legion for Alliance Seat waves 10 and 20, then return it to its ally.
